Default Aquila Eagles vs other Eagles

In my field guide (Birds of Thailand), the Steppe Eagle (http://www.avianwatchasia.org/forums...read.php?t=138) is classified under 'Aquila Eagles' and there are just 3 other species (Thailand) in the same classification - Greater Spotted Eagle , Tawny Eagle and Imperial Eagle.

What's the difference between these Aquila Eagles and other Eagles or what makes them so special ?

Thanks.
