No, I did not post it on CS. It's a private session between you and me. How about that? :D

You will definitely be able to give your 500 f4 and the Wimberley head a good workout, subject to Murphy's Law of course :D

The Sigma prime is discontinued. I personally checked with HK side also. The only one available is liquidstone's 300-800! :)

Cheers! The 500mm f/4L IS is roughly around 11k sing dollars locally. (comes with one year warranty). But dun forget, the additional costs. New tripod to hold the lens, tripod head (preferably a gimbal mount such as Wimberley), new dry cabinet, new bag, lens plate. Estimated costs of these additional accessories is around 2.3k. (+ or -). So total cost could top out as much as 13k.
Sigma 800/f5.6 had been replaced by the 300-800mm f/5.6 DG zoom as mentioned by wkcheah76.
Thanks! How much is the 500mm/f4 IS typically?

anywhere from 10.5-13 K depending where it is aquired, used or new and if it comes with warranty or not.

The Bigma is a seriously cheaper alternative and its much lighter too! (Tried it once... its as light as a feather compared to the 500mm f4L...) Of course with a zoom you compromise with the optical quality but I heard its pretty good, just that u need lots o' light to shoot at f6.3 wide open at 500mm.
Don't buy 4D or TOTO, do what bro Garion here does... More chances of losing money with TOTO... hehe..
Cheers,
Nick
What did bro Garion do? Hehe... :)

I'm sure it will, just be patient, and try to utilize your current gears to the max potential for the time being. Look at the works of Arthur, who is using a P&S digicam, he is a good example of pushing his equipment to the limits, and getting very good results from it. Equipment does matter to a certain extent, but what matters more is the skills of the photog behind it.
Cheers,
Well said, Garion!!
Thanks!
