caught in the rain that day.
My canon 100-400mm and 300D was wet.I dried them, blow them with fan and then store in dry cabinet
the next day after a morning use, the autofocus at 400mm not working in the afternoon.tried the lens on other camera, it is ok. tried a short lens on my camera, the AF is also ok.
what is happening?
anyone can help?
Thanks
my 10D and 100-400 was caught in the rain as well during my holiday in Bintan.
the next day, err99 shown on display everytime i press shutter regardless of what lens i mounted. so lens is ok, its the body.
now its in Canon Svc Ctr, suspected damaged shutter or mainboard.
in your case, most likely its the cam problem loh since lens works well with other cam.
the pins connecting the cam and lens might be damaged(trying cleaning the contacts) or maybe like my set - the mainboard faulty(pray hard its not like mine)
lesson: keep your cam off rain and water even if its a slight drizzle.

Keep one of those big plastic bag tha they use for packing aquarium fish inside your bag. Can be used quickly as a rain cover for your camera. Cheap too.
