Steady ah... actually... I feel that birders need taller hides... the tent one I also thought about it... but it only gives you sky shots and birds that move on the ground nicely... If used in SGP weather, we'll be killed by heat stroke... The hides that were MOed in CS by our dear Chng is tall, but I still feel that it is not spacious enough to manuveour. Sauna man!!! The beannbag one is economical and a great way to shoot!

This is already in one of my project plans.

Will try to make one that can float as well.....

Imagine rowing your hide next to the Common KF ....

I checked with the resident workers and fishermen the depth of the pond. It is deep. Chest height already at 2m from shoreline where we shoot. The dollarbird perch is around 2 men deep. To deploy a raft, the raft need to be able to accomodate 3 persons area to be sound for 1 person (standing). The closer to the birds on perches, the more angled it is and you'll end up pointing into the sky. A raft is good idea for the ground based birdies... but again we have mentioned that getting too close to the birds this way will spook them. It is where you draw the line.... anyway, the fishermen have already made a path for us to the back where the dollarbird and the "other" ground based birds are located. Please check that out first...

Hi Guys....

Kinda found a fleece type camo material over the weekend and decided to buy to try out. Why fleece - as it does not soak water if rain comes in drops...and have reaction time to stow away equipment....

Here is the output of my labour.....hahahah....well this is what happens if you put me at home with nothing to do.....

Forest camo .......

Sorry, this content is visible to registered members only.

Its is a seven piece suit.....
- 1 for lens hood - slip in
- 1 for main lens body - one small hole for focus limiter knob + added slack for 2x or 1.4x convertor
- 1 for tripod mount to ballhead base cover - velcro with hole for trippod release knob
- 1 for flash gun
- 3 for tripod legs up to end of first main section of a 3 section tripod - slip in

The fleece material is stretchable and allows manual focus access without the need to have opening for hands to the focus ring....

Hopefully to be able to test it out this weekend.....any ideas?.....
