WOW! Nice!!! I WANT ONE!!

But I thought only the smaller models are available in basalt? When I last check in CP, all the bigger ones are carbon fibre.

Cheers,

Three of Gitzo's popular tripod series are now available with basalt tubing. The very compact Weekend series is ideal for compact digital cameras, lightweight 35mm equipment and small camcorders. The Sport series is good for all lightweight digital and 35mm cameras. It is ideal for location work and also very suitable for spotting scopes, binoculars or light camcorders. For 35mm SLR and medium format cameras plus videocamcorders, there is the Reporter series.

Each of the series has two models, so there is a range of six tripods to suit cameras from the very small compacts to medium formats. As "Performance" models, these tripods have sliding stops which allow the legs to be individually set at different angles for greater flexibility and very low angle shooting.

Looks like a total of 7 models available only. Most compact, light weight ones. Sian...

Cheers,
