Hi All,

I just come across this intertesting adaptor & I was wondering if any of you can help me out wif some of my queries.

Here's my limited understanding :-

CF card technology is dependant on the internal components to drive the read/write speed, thus we have 20x, 40x etc.

SD on the other hand is dependant on external engine that drives the drive, for eg. Digic in Canon camera.

So, will cameras that uses CF memory experience improvements on read/write if we were to use a SD card by means of a SD to CF adaptor?

Ha ha, maybe the answer is an obvious one, but me not techie  , so if u know the answer, pls advise :10Q:

if you look at www.robgalbraith.com, the speed difference between CF and SD for 1D2 is quite close... so i doubt any huge speed increase by using a SD-CF adaptor.

Hi Erwinx,

read the report... however, the tests were done for cams with both CF & SD slots, thus I believe the manufacturer would have already optimized the performance for both type of media.

What I am keen to find out is whether a cam that only have CF slots will benefit for using a SD to CF adaptor as the file transfer architecture is completely different.
