I also 20D. I normally shoot with aperture priority with aperture at the widest.

I thought more members should be canon users since canon has more choices on telephoto lenses. :D

hi zplus,

was wondering if u set your camera on a tripod, do u use "mirror lock up" ?

today i tried ISO 1600 cos it was rather dark due to the rain and the pics all turned out noisy.
heard so much about 20D having the abilities to produce "good" pics at that ISO........

Hi mervin,
iso1600 if viewed at 100% will definitely see noise....
Esp if you are dealing with dark colors. Try to fill the frame with the subject when at high ISO so that the noise effect is lessen. Also try a noise reduction software too.

Some of my test shots over here with the 20D and high ISO....

For my shots, I don't use mirror lockup. If you have time, mirror lockup helps to increase sharpness becoz the mirror slap is removed, preventing some degree on vibrations... this applies if you lens is very long... My style of shooting usually does not have time for mirror lockup... ;)
